Digital Marketing Consultant | Blogger | Promotional Specialist
I began writing blogs for my Emerging Media and Communication degree when I was attending UT Dallas. I graduated in May 2012 with my Bachelor of Arts.
Following that, I worked as a Social Media Specialist and Digital Marketing Analyst for Navigation Solutions, a Hertz Company. Once a week for about two years, I wrote travel related blogs for HertzNeverLost while I worked for that company.
Now, I work as a Marketing Expert for ReachLocal and I help small and medium businesses with their online advertising!
I've decided to devote some personal time to blogging and I'm excited to begin sharing my own passions, interests, and discoveries with y'all! Check out the "MazingMelissa" site to see what's going on!
This post contains links to blog articles that I wrote while I worked at an advertising agency, each of which share various marketing strategy and execution tips.
During my role as Marketing Expert for ReachLocal, I had the pleasure of sharing a variety of online marketing strategy and execution tips. I’m grateful to have had the chance to share this advice with my former clients and I hope that if you continue reading, you will find this content helpful as well!

Hey, y’all! As I mentioned in my last post, “Tying the Knott: A Baltimore Wedding,” I recently got to travel to Washington, DC! I went to Baltimore for a friend’s wedding and on the last day in town, we (my friend Leah and I) had some spare time so we made the hour-long trip to DC so that we could explore!
We didn’t actually go inside many places, but we certainly had a great sight-seeing experience!

My friend Monica and her new husband, Kemp Knott, both seem to adhere to the belief that is quoted above! They got married this past weekend and I’m so glad I got to be a part of the experience! It was pretty awesome to witness two people so in love and excited to start a life together!
Along with the wedding, I was happy to take part in some spring adventures! I got to explore local Baltimore neighborhoods and venture off to Washington, DC too! (My next blog post will talk about DC, so keep an eye out!)
Before the Wedding
I traveled to Baltimore, Maryland with my good friend, Leah! We all grew up in Sweeny, a small Texas town, and have kept in touch! Leah made all of our travel arrangements, which was great! She set us up to stay at the Radisson at Cross Keys which turned out to be a nice hotel in a super cute area!

It was a bit chilly last week in the Dallas area! I even wore a vest with a fur hood one day…and it’s April! Can you believe that? But this weekend turned out to have perfect spring weather which inspired me to spruce up my apartment a bit!
I stay pretty busy so it can be hard to find time for crafty projects. With that said, I’m happy to announce that my living room recently got a makeover and today I cleaned the rest of that area and it all feels new! I’ve lived in the same apartment for a little over three years now and while I definitely get in the occasional moods to move, I know that I can’t give up the price or location I have. So, an easy fix when those moods come around, is to add a few new things and move the other stuff around!
Enhancing my wall collage was the main project I decided to focus on this time! I took down all the photos I had and laid them on my floor. It was a mess at first! But, by searching Pinterest, making a trip to Homegoods and World Market, and receiving advice from my friends via text, I came up with the perfect new layout!
Check out the before and after below!
Changing out the pictures in the frames is another good step to take! Also, I had already incorporated new furniture which stepped up the look a lot!
