“Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring.” – Lily Pulitzer
It was a bit chilly last week in the Dallas area! I even wore a vest with a fur hood one day…and it’s April! Can you believe that? But this weekend turned out to have perfect spring weather which inspired me to spruce up my apartment a bit!
I stay pretty busy so it can be hard to find time for crafty projects. With that said, I’m happy to announce that my living room recently got a makeover and today I cleaned the rest of that area and it all feels new! I’ve lived in the same apartment for a little over three years now and while I definitely get in the occasional moods to move, I know that I can’t give up the price or location I have. So, an easy fix when those moods come around, is to add a few new things and move the other stuff around!
Enhancing my wall collage was the main project I decided to focus on this time! I took down all the photos I had and laid them on my floor. It was a mess at first! But, by searching Pinterest, making a trip to Homegoods and World Market, and receiving advice from my friends via text, I came up with the perfect new layout!
Check out the before and after below!
Changing out the pictures in the frames is another good step to take! Also, I had already incorporated new furniture which stepped up the look a lot!
I mostly just reorganized things which helped me redo the smaller collage on the opposite wall too. However, the bird sign with the word “friends” on it was a Homegoods purchase, which I got for the bargain deal of just $7.99! I also found the turquoise clock from World Market while I was out running errands one day and I knew it would be perfect! Then, I threw in the silver mirror which I already had from Ikea.
I’m super happy with the way my new wall collage turned out! And now that my living room is clean, the overall vibe of my apartment feels better which helps me enjoy my living quarters more!
This project was the perfect way to spruce up my place for spring! Consider redoing a few things in your own home – it can make a big difference! Here’s another tip too: Put workout clothes on! My friend Jordan had bought me some new workout swag for my birthday and I put that on this morning to do some yoga and run errands. Then, when I got home and it was time to clean, I still felt inspired to accomplish something! Plus, it just looked cute!
After it was all done, I took a quick trip to the dog park and ended out the weekend on a relaxing note!
Hope y’all had a good weekend as well!
